Shanne Villa-Real is the type of girl we’d hate to pass by on the street.
Sure, you can argue that it’s a good day whenever you see someone as beautiful as this 19-year-old from Laguna—and we couldn’t agree more. It’s not just a good day; it’s a terrifically, fantastically, fist-pumpingly great day. But imagine the aftermath. You’ve just fallen in love…and she’s just passed you by. You swear you’ve just found the girl you’d spend forever with and now she’s gone, and you probably won’t see her again. Unfortunately, in real life, a comments section doesn’t exist where you can ask, “Who is she? For research purposes.”
Lucky for us, we didn’t see her on the street. Our photographer forwarded her photos to us, which immediately prompted this response: “Who is she?!” In our case, it wasn’t for research purposes. It was so we could make Shanne your #NewCrush for the month of June. (And before we proceed, a clarification: Her name's pronounced "Shane" and not "Sean" or "Shawn" despite the extra "n.")
Who is she? Shanne is many things but here’s the quirkiest bit: She once acted as the body double for Anne Curtis in Dyesebel. “Sabi ni Anne, nakakainggit ‘yung bewang ko. Sabi ko naman sa kanya, ang sexy niya. Ha ha,” recalls a conversation our #NewCrush had with the ABS-CBN star.
Anne had not been lying.
Shanne has a crazy 23-inch waistline—and that’s in spite of her healthy appetite for Chicken Joy, pizza, and carbonara. In fulfilling the role, she professes that she wasn't afraid to get in the water, having learned how to swim at an early age. What she was a little bit afraid of was her mermaid tail falling off, once again, thanks to her tiny waist. "Yung sinusuot ko na buntot nun, sobrang laki sa waist ko," she says with a laugh.
Prior to Dyesebel, Shanne also had bit roles in Pedro Penduko, Volta, Kambal Sa Uma, and a show on Wattpad. Shanne though refuses to dive into showbiz completely. She has a lot of other dreams. First on her list is to finish her studies. She's a second-year Tourism student at the Lyceum of the Philippines—a course which she hopes will eventually propel her to dream destinations, Macau and Paris. Shanne's a bit of a romantic, and confesses that she's a sucker for tear-inducing chick flicks, and Nicholas Sparks novels. (And Harry Potter, she adds.)
Once she has traveled the world, she'd also like to take up interior design. Her appreciation for beautiful design, we wager, stems from her interest in fashion. She's the type who likes to keep things fun when it comes to what she wears. For proof, simply scroll across her Facebook page where she busts out a few cool selfies every now and then, oftentimes appearing in magazine-like shoots with talented, young photographers.
Speaking of talented and young, she also confesses that she's a fan of Stephen Curry, and now regularly tunes in to the NBA because of the two-time MVP. Sexy, ambitious and an NBA fan—#NewCrush of the year?
