Instead of just sleeping through last Independence Day, we decided to witness the unveiling of the latest fashion trends at the Philippine Fashion Week at SM Aura Premiere's atrium. Why? So that we can show you that there are other things to wear out there other than your trusty jeans-and-shirt combo. (Sure, there's nothing wrong with it, but there's nothing wrong with a little sprucing up as well.)

At PFW, we saw the "Man About Town" and "The Sportsman" collections by menswear designers Anthony Nocom and Sidney Perez, respectively. The former showcased slick and stylish urban men wearing classic, tailored suits and button downs—some of which look like they'd be great #OOTDs for your date or gimik.

On the other hand, the latter left the audience amazed as he reinvented the iconic barong by infusing some street style. With accessories thrown into the mix (think: visors), Perez presents a dynamic take on the ever-evolving urban Filipino. They also made the event extra special by collaborating with technology retailers Power Mac Center and Beats by Dr. Dre—further proof that gadgets have become part of our fashion statement.

But enough talk. See the stuff fashion pundits will call "very stylish" in the very near future in our gallery below!
