We can't reiterate this enough, but it's high time for men to be fashion-conscious. Cliché as it sounds, first impressions do last, and you don't want to give off a vibe of not giving a damn about what you look like. Especially on first dates, you'd like to impress your woman.

Speaking of her opinion, a Reddit thread is currently trending for its slick advice on men's fashion—the tips, all from the ladies. We break down the most important style bits, plus some hacks on how to achieve it. Take note, gents.

1) Roll up your sleeves

"Rolled-up sleeves show off them forearms!"

"Rolled-up sleeves are sexy because it looks like men mean business."

"A lot of women like forearms, hence, rolled-up sleeves."

How to do it: There are various styles, but the basic steps (which works for almost all long-sleeved tops) are folding the cuff (use it to set the width), until just below the elbow. You can also fold up above your elbow, as long as your arms are still comfortable (aka you can freely move it).

2) Wear pants that fit

"The biggest mistake I see is men wearing clothes that don't fit, which it makes your entire body look different."

"Wear clothes that fit and flatter your body type. Wear layers. Dress appropriate for the weather. And wear a belt."

"Wear well-fitting jeans/pants that don't make your ass sag."

How to do it: Flaunt those ass-ets by making sure that your jeans fit your buns well (women do notice). How? Stick to straight or slim cut jeans (no baggy pants, please!). Get one that's preferably one size smaller—the jeans will stretch as you use/wash it, so don't worry. The jeans must fit your waist without needing a belt. The rear area should not be too saggy or too tight—it should lightly hug your backside. As for the length, please avoid too long jeans!

These tips work on those on the heavier side or those who are not blessed with huge buns as well. Trust us, whatever shape you are in, a flattering fit does wonders.

3) Don't forget to keep your shoe game strong

"Wear decent shoes and keep them relatively well-maintained."

"Nice sneakers can work well with the right outfit, but you need to make a distinction between casual sneakers and actual workout gym shoes."

"Nice shoes, don't forget the shoes (nice means not dirty, not broken, and not a color that clashes with everything else)."

How to do it: There's more to your shoe game than your favorite sneakers, dude. So better start shopping for dress shoes (derby, oxfords, brogues), casual shoes (boat shoes, sandals), and heck, even boots, this coming holiday season. Once you've got a variety of choices, click this link to learn here's how to properly pair jeans with your shoes.

4) Layer your clothes

"Instead of just wearing a t-shirt, maybe wear a flannel unbuttoned on top. If you're wearing a button-up, wear a sweater on top that reveals the collar."

"When you layer clothes you're giving the illusion that you upper half is heftier than it actually is, so your chest looks a big larger, and your shoulders look broader. Score."

"I find it really flattering for men to wear layers. So instead of just wearing a t-shirt, maybe wear a flannel unbuttoned on top."

How to do it: Whether it's a blazer or a denim jacket, again, make sure that it fits you well (shoulder seams of the blazer/jacket should end where your shoulders end). Also, make sure that each layer could stand alone on its own. As for the inside layer, a plain cotton shirt is your best (and most comfortable) bet.
