Right about now, we’d love to be pulling your leg with some #FakeNews for April Fool’s Day. But there’s enough of that going around on a regular day, so for a change, let’s stick to what’s legit. Like, for instance, the fact that this April is shaping up to be a pretty solid calendar month for sneaker releases. Here are the ones to keep on your radar, so you can plan ahead and brace yourself for the impending blows to your bank account.

Air Jordan 1 OG “Royal”

LOCAL DROP DATE: April 1

If you’re reading this, it’s too late. Every self-respecting sneakerhead should know by now that the Royal 1s are dropping (or have already dropped) this month, April 1st. The build quality and materials on these are even better than the ones that last came out in 2013—tumbled leather this time. But you’re probably not going to be able to get your hands on a pair, because the release is looking limited—Titan only has 100 pairs in stock, all available exclusively by raffle. We suppose we can pray for a restock.

Asics Gel Lyte V “Kultura”

LOCAL DROP DATE: April 7

We can’t stop fawning over these. Commonwealth has been a fixture in the local streetwear and sneaker scene for over a year now, but they’ve put together one of the best Filipino sneaker collabs yet. They’ve come up with a special colorway of the Asics Gel Lyte V that pays tribute to Kalinga tattoos, which are printed on its tongue and sockliner. They’re dropping exclusively at Commonwealth locations around the world, including the one here in the Philippines, on April 7, with a wider release date in other Asics Tiger locations on April 14.

adidas Originals x United Arrows & Sons NMD City Sock

LOCAL DROP DATE: April 2

Japanese menswear fixture United Arrows & Sons put a subtle twist on the NMD City Sock by adding custom Katakana characters on the side of a black Primeknit colorway. Just last week, adidas Philippines dropped this collab via their online store, but you can still have a shot at them next week, as Commonwealth will be stocking them too.

adidas Originals x Alexander Wang AW Bball

LOCAL DROP DATE: April 1

Here’s a great fashion sneaker if you ever saw one. Alexander Wang teamed up with adidas Originals for another collection of bold, out-there designs, including the designer’s take on the adidas Originals BBall, a retro basketball silhouette. The result is a simple, but solid statement, and a covetable sneaker. Someone tell Jeremy Scott that THIS is what designers should be doing with adidas collaborations.

Air Jordan 11 Low “Barons”

LOCAL DROP DATE: April 2017, TBD

Some people choose to forget Michael Jordan’s forays into baseball with the Birmingham Barons, but Jordan Brand embraces it. They’ve come out with grey-and-black Barons colorways of the Air Jordan 1 and Air Jordan 11 before, but now they’ve chopped the latter down to a Low. It’s a subtle, simple colorway of the 11 Lows, but the clincher is its suede upper and the cloudy sparkle on its patent leather mudguard. It’s the classiest, most quietly dope pair of 11s in a while, and it’s dropping at Titan this month.

Nike Ivory Pack

LOCAL DROP DATE: April 2017, TBD

What you need to know about the shoes in the Ivory Pack is that they aren’t just white—they’re ivory. It’s a creamy, slightly off-white shade of white, and it looks super premium on Nike Basketball’s signature shoes: the Kyrie 3, the KD9, and the PG1. Expect these to drop in Titan sometime this month.

Nike Kobe A.D. Compton

LOCAL DROP DATE: April 2017, TBD

The Black Mamba ended both his basketball career and his sneaker legacy with a bang, scoring 60 points and lending his name for the last time to the Kobe A.D. Today, the A.D. returns in a “Compton” colorway, as a tribute to the Los Angeles city. These A.D.s are all-white, with nice touches like a marbled heel counter, a textured upper, and accent colors on the tongue logo. There’s no word yet on the lore behind these shoes and how specifically they relate to Kobe himself, but word has it that these will be associated more with DeMar DeRozan. What’s sure is that you’ll be able to cop them in Titan sometime this month.

Air Jordan Trunner LX Low

LOCAL DROP DATE: April 2017, TBD

The Trunners have always been the most underrated diffusion Jordans, but they might just get their time to shine with the release of the OG colorway. They’re training shoes, which means they’re great for the gym, but we imagine that they’d look even better with jeans.

Nike Flyknit Racer “Multicolor”

LOCAL DROP DATE: TBD

It’s one of the most popular colorways of the Flyknit Racer (and of anything Flyknit, really), and it’s coming back. No definitive word yet on when these are dropping here, but international release dates are pegged at April 7, so it’s fair to expect that we’ll get our share this month too.

adidas NMD R2

LOCAL DROP DATE: April 2017, TBD

The NMD is looking to keep its foothold as sneaker-of-the-moment with another big push of the R2 in April. Apart from this triple-white colorway, which is punctuated with polka dots on the heel tab, adidas is releasing several other colorways of the NMD R2 with the same dots and dashed-line motif. But we have a pretty good feeling that the triple-whites will lead the pack. No word on a specific release for these either, but keep them in your radar and watch out for announcements from adidas retailers.
