Ditch that cheesy vampire costume. We've got a solution here for all of you scrambling for a cool costume for the upcoming spate of Halloween parties this weekend. It's called Digital Dudz, a free app that could take any Halloween costume over the edge.

Created by former NASA engineer Mark Rober, the app features animations such as a realistic beating heart inside an open chest and rotten  flesh being eaten by  maggots. To incorporate it onto a costume, simplycut a hole on your old shirt (or mask) and ducttape the device onto it. The app will then play the animation, thus makingthat part of your costume look alive. You can move, rotate and resize the animation as you please , and can be locked in place to avoid accidentally pressing stop.

Thanks to this app, simple costumes level up. Look:

The app makers also have a DIY tutorial for those looking to make their own homemade horrors:

Now, practice that monster-dance!
