If you are craving for an adrenaline-filled adventure, hurry up and pack your bags—we’re going to Davao City.
Davao has indeed become more famous all thanks to the newly inaugurated President Rodrigo Duterte. But aside from Digong, Philippine Eagles, and Mount Apo, there are more things in Davao City that are definitely worth checking out—Eden Nature Park & Resort, for one.
Eden Nature Park & Resort is not just your ordinary tourist spot. This must-visit attraction is 3,000 feet above sea level—and is 95 percent man-made. It used to be a logging concessionaire, filled with grass and nothing else. Not long after, the owners decided to improve the place. Terraces were carved out of the mountain slope, pine tree seedlings were planted everywhere, and scenic facilities were built. The result? An 80-hectare picturesque area that has wildlife spots, hiking trails, fine gardens, and green, green fields perfect for team buildings, photoshoots, or just plain relaxing.
Great for those itching to get out of the hassles and bustles of the city, Eden Nature Park & Resort also offers exciting activities for the outdoorsy kind. There are shuttle tours, mountain trails, swimming pool, obstacle courses, museums, and sky adventures. But this one is our favorite: The Skycycle.
Skycycle lets you pedal your way through the sky as you bike on a 200-meter long wire, 60 feet above ground. The bikes are attached to a wire and have special wheels that “hug” the steel cables. The ride costs P200 per person. Better yet, do it together with the equally exciting SkyRider, and pay P300 only.
