It might require a bit more effort, but think of this as another validation of you being a true man, because a true man knows his way inside the kitchen. That and girls love guys who cook. Plus, the rewarding feeling of you tasting your own masterpiece is all worth it.

In this weekly series called FHM's Weekend Cooking Challenge, we'll pick a dish you can do for your girl or folks that's both delicious and doable, but still special enough that you'll feel a profound sense of pride after you've successfully accomplished it.
Yes, you read right: This recipe entails cooking shrimps in beer. The beer not only prevents the meat from drying out, but it also improves the shrimp’s natural flavor in the same way it makes metaphorical hipons look more attractive than they really are. Bust this out on an inuman night with the barkada for an easy yet impressive meal!
What you’ll need:
500 grams shrimps, unpeeled
1 can beer
A pinch of salt
1 1/2 tablespoons garlic chili paste
1) Wash the shrimps thoroughly and place them in a heavy frying pan. Add a pinch of salt, and cook over medium heat.
2) Add the beer as the shrimps turn orange. Bring the heat to high until the beer dries out.
3) Add the garlic chili paste.
4) Serve immediately. Garnish with lemon wedges.

- The same kind of beer your cooked your shrimps with. You won’t have clashing flavors that way.
- As with most food, the fresher, the better when it comes to shrimps. In fact, you can even use live ones! Just make sure to cover the pan to prevent the shrimp from popping out!
- Make sure you choose your shrimp correctly since they tend to spoil quickly. Their shells should be shiny and free of black or yellow spots. Next, pick them up: They shouldn’t feel slimy, and they should smell like the ocean.
