Not all fast food restaurants are created equal. Some have better quality; some have lousier service, and some particular branches offer insane things that’ll make your beloved fried chicken-and-rice combo meal look horribly ordinary in comparison.

Case in point, the crazy fast food offerings below:

1) Burger King Japan Black Burger

There’s just something so weird about black-colored food, and Burger King Japan’s black burger seemed more like a Krusty Krab creation than a real-life fast food offering. We were rather relieved (and to be honest, a bit disappointed) to find out that the black buns taste like ordinary burgers, and that no demonic rituals took place in the making of these inky eats.

2) McDonald’s Canada's McLobster Sandwich

This one features slices of "100-percent Atlantic Lobster Meat" in between a hotdog bun. Don’t expect anything fancy though: It looks not nearly as impressive in real life compared to photos, so much so that we’re more likely to call it the Catfish Roll.

3) Pizza Hut Australia's Doritos Pizza

Pizza Hut Australia probably saw our Stuffed Crust Pizza line and thought, "How could we possibly top that?" So they topped their pizza crust with Doritos chips, held together with a layer of mozzarella cheese. It sounds delicious, but we can’t imagine how messy it would be to eat!

4) Wendy’s Japan's Foie Gras Burger

During its reopening in Japan in 2011, Wendy’s lured diners with a Y1,280 (around P530) Foie Gras Rossini Burger, which featured a slice of foie gras on top of the burger patty.

5) Burger King Japan's Pumpkin Bomb Burger

Who would’ve thought of adding pumpkin slices to a burger? Certainly not us, hence our mildly disgusted expressions upon hearing about Burger King Japan’s Pumpkin Bomb, which has up to 10 fried pumpkin slices inserted into an otherwise regular-ish burger.

6) Burger King Japan's Windows 7 Whopper

To commemorate the worldwide launch of Windows 7 in 2009, Burger King Japan created the Windows 7 Whopper, an otherwise ordinary burger that has seven (we repeat: SEVEN) patties. It would’ve been perfect if they also gave away free installs of the operating system with it.

7) Pizza Hut Hong Kong's Cream Cheese and Roe Pizza

Pizza Hut’s Fish Roe Salmon Cream Cheese Pizza sounds utterly decadent: topped with scallops, crayfish, shrimp, and clams, rounded up with a crust stuffed with cream cheese and fish eggs. On second thought, we’d rather have our roe with sushi, thanks.

8) Burger King Japan’s Premium Berry Burger

See that red sauce slathered in between this Burger King Japan offering? That’s not ketchup, guys. In fact, it’s a burger patty topped with a couple of blueberries, capped off with a drizzle of "BK Mixed Berry Sauce." It sounds weird, but it apparently tastes pretty good!

9) Burger King Japan's Pizza-Size Burger

Here’s something for when you can’t decide if you want a pizza or a burger: Burger King Japan’s 8.8-inch Pizza-Size burger, which you could order in "Fresh Avocado" or "Cheese Nacho" variants. Good luck slicing this monstrosity cleanly.

10) Wendy’s Japan's Premium Caviar & Lobster Sandwich

This bad boy looks much better than the McLobster, and it seems a lot fancier too: it has lobster claw meat and lobster salad, a mustardy mayonnaise, and a dash of caviar. You could have gotten one for Y1,280 (or P521) when it was available back in 2012.
