Gendarme is an elite line of scents adored all over the world. With macho papas like Tom Cruise, ex-Prez Bill Clinton and Shaquille O'Neal religiously using Gendarme, we know there's something special at hand here.[firstpara] Luckily, the fragrance line has finally found its way to Manila.

Jonathan Risco, president of Gendarme fragrances, was recently in town to promote the Gendarme’s arrival in the Philippines (particularly in Rustans Makati, Shangri-La Plaza, and Gateway Mall, among others).

The 20-year veteran of the fragrance business says he's known Gendarme ever since he was a student. Chatting with him, Risco tells us of a perfect scenario we simply couldn't refuse: how to score a date with a woman by means of good fragrance alone.

From his personal experiences to the pleasurable effects promised by his fragrance, the man certainly didn’t reserve himself when it comes to convincing us why Gendarme is slowly becoming a certified “cult classic” among gentlemen.

Asking a lady out on a date is challenging enough, but to get a woman to take notice of your presence could be really difficult.

Pick-up lines, as awesome and tempting as they are to men, aren’t as effective as they used to be. So what other ways can a dude meet and talk to a fine lady? It turns out women are most vulnerable when it comes to fragrance.

Jonathan Risco says:
I travel a lot and even in the plane, sometimes people stop me and it makes me feel good. If I’m tired I put it on I already feel uplifted. And the fragrance doesn’t offend anyone, so that’s a plus.

I’m used to it of course but I always get stopped, with flight attendants telling me “you smell so good, what are you wearing?” so I have to tell them the story all the time.

And more times than not, I’ve had women asking me out of nowhere “you’re wearing my husband’s fragrance, are you one of my boyfriends?” and I say “no it’s not, this is mine!” But it happens a lot. It’s just very strange and a very unique story. It’s a great conversation starter.
