Your Facebook and Instagram posts may be getting tons of likes and hearts, but your social media skills do not automatically translate to real-life social skills.

When you’re at a party, practice social media etiquette. For starters, don’t be glued to your phone’s screen—it’s a party, so mingle with the people around you, and take the opportunity to meet new friends and perhaps your future significant other. Another tip: Don’t be obnoxious. If you want to take a photo with a girl and she declines, don’t be offended and respect her personal space.
