The massive assembly of Raider R150 aficionados not only turned out to be a celebration of the Underbone King's success (30,785 units sold), but also a piece of history.
Drawing 4178 participants, the recent Raider R150 Summit 2017 last February 26 at the World Trade Center bagged the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for Largest road safety lesson.
The previous record of 2,700 set in India a few years ago was easily smashed by the well-attended gathering with an estimated 6,000 attendees. According to TopGear.com.ph, this was the Suzuki riders' 2nd crack at the title, following a 'failed attempt' in 2015.
This year, though, they won't be denied.
"We have been creating history for the Philippines with our monumental wins at the Suzuki Asian Challenge (SAC). This time we would like to highlight our commitment to safety riding which is the core of our business. Setting the Philippines in world history books is one achievement that is an honor for Suzuki to host and a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the Largest road safety lesson is a testament to this," Suzuki Philippines President Mr. Hiroshi Suzuki said in an interview.
Sherwin Florendo and Noel Villapando then conducted an engaging lecture that lasted for almost an hour, before GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ Mr. Swapnil Dangarikar conferred the honor.
"We would like to make a socially relevant record and the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for Largest road safety lesson is the most fitted for Suzuki," Mr. Monch Bontogon, Marketing Manager for Motorcycle Marketing Department added.
