Quick question: What kinds of bread do you currently have in your kitchen?

If you’re anything like us, there will most likely be a loaf of the quintessential tasty bread stocked somewhere in your cupboard. It’s a kitchen staple for a reason: It’s great as is, but it’s so much better with the palaman of your choice.

And because we can all agree that we've eaten it and will continue eating it in the foreseeable future, we've come up with a list of ways on how we can upgrade this ever-reliable food item.

Read on for a host of ideas on how to bring your trusty tasty bread to another level of tastiness!

1)   WEAVE YOUR BACON STRIPS

Always get bacon in every bite you take by weaving a few uncooked strips together to form a perfectly square bacon mat. Fry it to your desired level of crispiness, put it in between two slices of bread, and enjoy! (Or, you know, eat it as is. We won’t judge.)

2)   CREATE PINWHEELS

Make your ham-and-cheese combo a bit fancier by turning it into tiny rolls! Flatten a slice of tasty bread with a rolling pin, slather it with mayonnaise, add ham and cheese, and roll it up tightly. Cut it into bite-sized bits, and use toothpicks if you need help in keeping them from breaking apart.

3)   SHAPE/CUT IT INTO FUN PIECES...

...like the one in the photo above, which was fashioned from two different ham-and-cheese sandwiches. Make it for your girlfriend and watch your pogi points soar!

4)   GO WITH MAYO

Mayonnaise adds a nice eggy touch to your usual grilled cheese sandwiches. Use it as a substitute for butter to avoid over-oiliness.

5)   STACK YOUR FILLINGS THE RIGHT WAY

Sandwiches that are falling apart are absolutely no fun (and hard) to eat. Put your stickier ingredients like meats and cheese directly on top of or under (depending on where the slice is) your tasty bread, then put the slippery ones like vegetables in between them so your lettuce and tomatoes won’t sneak out of your sandwich.

6)   WRAP YOUR SANDWICHES IN WAX PAPER

It really sucks when you unwrap your tasty bread sandwich and find bits of tissue paper clinging stubbornly to your palaman. Fix this issue by using wax paper (usually available in supermarkets and department stores)—your stacked creation will stay nice, fresh, and paper-free!

7)   SPAGHETTI AS A SPREAD?

Why not, right? Spread some butter and toasted garlic bits on two slices of tasty bread, place a nice glob of spaghetti in between them, and pop it in a sandwich maker.

8)   THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS TOO MUCH CHEESE

Whip up a melty creation by drizzling a nice amount of grated cheese on the outer bread of your sandwich. Pop it into your oven toaster or sandwich maker and, voila!, you've instantly upgraded its saliva-inducing power! Prepare your nose for the resulting glorious aroma...

BONUS:  FREEZE IT!

Make sure your loaves last longer by putting them inside the freezer (don't be scared!) and toasting the slices as needed. Don't forget to put it inside a container and refrain from squeezing it just to make if fit since doing so will likely result to deformed slices. Your bread will still be mold-free and will last past its expiration date, promise!
