Be honest, at least once in your life, you actually sneaked in a little snooze on your work desk. No worries, though, you’re not alone. And for sleepyheads out there, we’ve got the perfect profession for you. A Chinese firm is offering applicants 100,000 yuan (about 730k in Philippine Peso) a year to be a professional "sleeper."
The career, dubbed "the world's most comfortable job" by netizens, was posted first in the Beijing Morning Post. The Chinese paper said the company offering it is well-known health supplement firm, Nao Baijin.
Those selected for the job simply has to test the company's products through sleeping, and then write research reports on how taking the supplements affects their slumber quality.
"For example, many programmers sleep late and wake up late and their sleeping patterns are chaotic. As a sleep tester, the workers need to mimic a programmer's schedule and deduce the sleep quality derived, before suggesting ways to improve it," said the report.
The sole requirement for the job is an unconditional love for sleeping.
The profession "sleep tester" is actually common elsewhere.
In America, public hospitals often have professional sleep testers. The said career is sought after in sleep deprived America; a whopping 30 percent of its population battling with insomnia. Sleep testers in America earn up to US $300,000 (P15 million) a year.
