Nike has just unveiled a revolutionary shoe that utilizes an "adaptive lacing" technology which, in layman's terms, allows it to gauge the wearer’s size and lace up by itself.
The shoe, named Nike HyperAdapt 1.0, was designed by Tinker Hatfield and Tiffany Beers who have been working on the project since 2013.
Check out the short video below which shows Portuguese football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo trying out the futuristic footwear:
The scene seems like something out of a sci-fi movie but in reality, the self-lacing mechanism kicks in after the heel of the wearer hits a sensor in the shoe. There are also buttons on the side which you can press to either loosen or tighten the laces for the perfect fit.
And, for those asking, no, this isn't the one from the Back To The Future movies a.k.a. the Nike Air MAG.
So yeah, Nike has officially more than one self-lacing shoe!
The Nike HyperAdapt 1.0 will be available during the holidays
