If a brand new calendar year isn't enough motivation for you to get in shape, below is a list of things to make it happen! And here's a hashtag motto to for added inspiration: #WagKangTamad!
1) Return to Your Favorite Sport
Maybe you used to play basketball or soccer but haven't been active over the last few months for whatever reason. Kick start your fitness by returning to familiar ground.
2) Try A New Kind Of Workout
CrossFit, BJJ, boxing, and MMA are all great forms of exercise, even if considered outside the norm. But the possibilities are endless! For all we know, ping pong could be your thing! Go try something new and get out of your comfort zone. The new body movements and mechanics can provide a welcome change and you might just get hooked on that new workout.
3) Try A New Group Activity
Round up the troops and engage in fun activities such as paintball, surfing, frisbee, or canyoneering. These sorts of activities are a great way to work up a sweat without the chore of going to the gym. Before you know it, you'll be huffing and puffing and having fun.
4) Find A Workout Buddy
Find someone with similar fitness goals and tag him along whenever you want to work out. Even better, make goals together and start your fitness journey as a team. With the two of you on the same page, you can help motivate each other and when one person gets lazy.
5) Make A Bet With Your Friends
If all else fails, make a bet with your friends. Vow to lose a certain amount of weight or another similar fitness goal. Raise the stakes. Put that extra pressure on yourself. Nobody wants to lose a bet, especially if the stipulation involves something crazy.
Nothing comes easy, so just go out and do it!
