If you feel the need to down a bottle of beer or two after a hard day at work—keep chugging. According to science, one to two drinks per day—yes, PER DAY—is in fact, healthy.
Based on a study from the American Society of Human Genetics, drinking one to two alcoholic beverages may actually slow down the aging process. “Moderate alcohol use—about one to two drinks per day—was correlated with the healthiest aging, while very low and high consumption were linked to accelerated aging” the study suggests.
The researchers delved into an old data and found that DNA was better at finding out how much people drank than by asking them. Through this, the researchers then calculated the difference between biological age (how old a human seems) and chronological age (actual time a human has been alive), and assessed the relationship between alcohol use and premature aging. It was here that they found that those who drank one or two drinks per day were in much better shape.
So it's confirmed: You’ll age better when you are a regular alcohol drinker. So, go ahead, grab an ice-cold bottle of beer, better yet, make it two. Your body deserves it.
