Ford launches two new rollers this month: The Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer EL and the comebacking E-150 Club Wagon. After a two-year hiatus, Ford brings back the bandwagon, bigger and tougher this time around. Updates include a more user-friendly instrument panel, new engine cover console, and door trim panels with more storage. It has a roll-stability control that should help the driver avoid fishtailing and spinning out. Each wheel is mounted with sensor, monitoring the tire pressures. Should tire pressure come to low, a warning lights up on the dash. The four-wheel anti-lock brake system helps provide steering control in hard-braking situations, reverse sensing, and a factory-installed integrated trailer brake controller that allows direct operation of the trailer's electronic brakes.
The Exped Eddie Bauer EL meanwhile could give Herbie a run for his money. Apart from its talking capabilities—in three languages at that: English, Spanish and French—Ford partners up with Microsoft, making the Ford Expedition a bit more high tech. You can actually connect to your mobile phone through Bluetooth and can execute commands through voice recognition.
Other new standard features include an anti-theft perimeter alarm system, rain sensing wipers, a standard SOS post-crash alert system that will activate the horn and emergency flashers in an airbag deployment event.
