For a seven-seater SUV, the Honda BR-V looks pretty tiny—at least, that’s how it seems from the outside. But once you enter this miniature monster, you’re immediately greeted by a spacious interior that can house any rowdy barkada (or maybe a budding family, depending on where you are in your life—no judgments here, bro).

To test its performance and the good word of mouth it’s been receiving from new owners, we decided to take it for a spin out to Antipolo on a sunny Sunday morning. It’s clear from the exterior body of the BR-V that it’s designed for endurance. It gives off that masculine and sporty vibe that pairs well with spontaneous road trips. You’ll want to bust out your best aviators and call on your favorite buds for a beach trip once you’re behind the wheel of this bad boy. Since it’s pretty compact, it isn’t difficult to navigate it along Manila’s oft-tight streets (and it’s a godsend for people who hate parking in cramped malls)—and this doesn’t take away from the fact that you feel safe inside it as well.

The stylish instrument panel on the dashboard is all set for the digital era! Equipped with a seven-inch touch screen audio display and digital air-conditioning controls, you can scroll through your Spotify playlist and play with the interior’s temperature with ease. It’s idiot-proof, which is a good thing these days. The sleekness of the design also lends it an air of coolness that’s rare with functional, pragmatic units.
