From May 30 to June 2, the SMX Convention Center at the Mall of Asia will be transformed into a huge garage filled with nothing but the sexiest of cars (and carshow girls) as the 22nd Trans Sport Show opens!

The Trans Sport Show is the country’s longest running automotive event and, since its inaugural season in 1992, has been a destination for anyone who has ever hung a poster of a Ferrari in their room or those who spend their weekend pimping their trusty Corollas and Lancers. It's a showcase for car owners who want to show off their sweet rides and for restoration companies to exhibit their handiwork.  The weekend-long hub is also where gearheads look for the latest car accessories, parts, and services to add extra growl to their machines.

This year, two seminal sports cars are set to be the stars: the forever-cool Porsche 911 and the bull-headed Chevrolet Corvette—the former, celebrating its 50th anniversary, the latter, its 60th.

That much was apparent during our visit to the show earlier today, where significant portions of the floor area had been devoted to those two cars and its most iconic variants.

To start off, there was an area outside the main room where stacks of die-cast models were displayed in glass casings.

The glass-bottom "parking lot" above was made possible by the Diecast Car Collectors of the Philippines (DCPH). The sea of mini Porsches—a 911 showcase that runs from the first-gen 1963 models to the seventh generation launched in 2011—is from DCPH member “Kasper.”

The highlight of the Corvette collection was this Stingray placed on a rotating disc—its innards exposed for all the world to see. The model is part of DCPH member Andy Adan's extensive collection of Corvette replicas.

This realistic-looking shot had us going, “Mukhang totoo!”

The obsessive toy display was just a taste of what's beyond those huge SMX doors. The real things were waiting inside, and we would’ve gone straight towards them…if only these ladies hadn’t distracted us with their carshow cuteness. Time now for your favorite part of the story! (Hint: it's on the next page!)
