The subcompact MPV wars are heating up. Earlier this year, Mitsubishi revealed the much-awaited Xpander. Not to be outdone, Toyota Motor Philippines then announced that it would be launching the Rush here in the country. Like the Xpander and Honda's BR-V, it's powered by a 1.5-liter engine and can seat up to seven people. Let the battle for affordable family-hauling supremacy commence.
While the actual vehicle won't be here until later this year, we can share with you the prices, provided to us by Javin Balugay, group sales manager for Toyota Santa Rosa.
So how much will it cost? Well, the base manual 1.5 E will set you back P948,000. For the automatic, you're looking at P988,000. Note that the E variants are only five-seaters. If you want the top-of-the-line seven-seater 1.5 G AT, then it'll cost you P1,070,000. Not surprisingly, these figures are within the ballpark of the Xpander, further cementing the fact that they'll be competing for the same customers.
Color choices are Bordeaux (exclusive to the 1.5 G), Dark Red Mica Metallic, White, Bronze Mica Metallic, Silver Mica Metallic, and Black Metallic. As always, we'll have more information for you guys on availability and so on once we have them. Are you reserving a unit?
