The first leg of this year's Vios Cup, now on its third year, started last Saturday, March 19. We were there to see the opening festivities, and fortunately, our camera guy was around to take photos. It was a hot and sunny day at the Clark International Speedway as the race venue hosted the one-make racing series once again.
These were the sights and sounds we saw and heard!
At the pitstops, the cars received some pre-race TLC, making sure that they're in tip-top shape before the race starts.
Then, it's off to the races. The roaring engines made the day even hotter.
Celebrities like Phoemela Baranda and Sam YG cheered on from the sidelines when they weren't racing.
And then gamely posed for our cameras, too!
Time to suit up, Phoem!
Jericho Rosales has also joined this year's races.
Other celebs present were Dominic Ochoa and Jinno Rufino:
Jinno wasn't holding up his finger without reason; he actually won the celebrity division.
Meanwhile, Sam here pretends to cry at the sight of an insignia that fell off one of the cars. He was just one of the 60 drivers driving this year.
Now, we'll leave you off with a couple more race photos should make you want to watch the next leg, too!
Congratulations, Toyota, for pulling off this great event again!
Excited yet? Catch the Vios Cup at Filinvest for the second round on May 21-22; Bacolod for the third round on Sept. 9-11; and the fourth and final round on Nov. 4-6 in a TBA venue.
