Making the rounds on Facebook feeds right now is an ABS-CBNnews.com article about a video of a traffic enforcer with a DOTC badge smashing the window of a taxi after the driver repeatedly refuses to surrender his license. The violation in question: The cab driver allegedly took passengers in at an illegal location. The driver and the enforcer engage in a back-and-forth until the latter finally snapped and violently smashed the taxi's window.
The video was uploaded last Friday, December 12, and so far has reached over 600,000 views as of this writing.
Who's in the wrong here? As far as what we saw in the video, two things stuck out: The enforcer for letting his temper get the better of him, and the driver for his faulty "Hey, someone else did it, too, so why am I the only one getting apprehended?" reasoning. The enforcer needs anger management and should be accountable for misuse of his position of power, while the driver needs to be reminded that just because everyone's doing it doesn't always mean it's right.
