Decades ago, it was muscle cars that imprinted skid marks on our dads' fantasy circuits. Derived from these muscles cars is a subcategory called "pony cars," popular examples of which include Bumblebee, a.k.a. the Chevy Camaro, and the Dodge Charger.

Leading the charge though was the iconic Ford Mustang.

Today, that dream is resurrected as Ford has unleashed the all-new, sixth-generation Ford Mustang. For starters, it looks hot:

Our brothers from TopGear.com.ph were there to attend the official reveal of the stunning new piece of metal at Sydney, Australia, one of the six cities chosen to host the worldwide reveal last December 5, 2013. Their initial verdict on the car's aggressive looks: "While looks will always be subjective, Ford's new pony car is stunning in the metal." And who are we to say otherwise?

What powers the car stirs the loins as well. The new Mustang will be globally available with three engines catering to different needs. There's a powerful 420 hp 5.0-liter V8, a 300hp 3.7-liter V6 and an all-new fuel-efficient 305hp 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine. While the first two sound closer to the original Mustang experience, it's nice to know that Ford's offering a more nature-friendly alternative even in this category of cars.

Derived from 50 years of Mustang awesomeness, the newest version packs not just a punch but also a compelling driving experience. It has become more nimble than ever with all-new front and rear suspension systems and an all-new integral-link independent rear suspension. It also has the stopping power to match its forward-pushing force with its larger brakes. All in all, it has been designed to set new handling benchmarks for the brand.

Want more? Well, the new Mustang has also had its brains enhanced. It boasts a significant amount of innovative technologies that provide enhanced information, control, and connectivity. The driver can also tap the toggle switches on the console to quickly adjust steering effort, engine response, and transmission. Last but not the least, it has SYNC AppLink™ which lets drivers control their smartphone apps to listen to their favorite form of entertainment.

You like that, buddy? Or do you need another reason why we consider it a dream car? To answer that last question, here's the all-new Mustang from another angle:

No word yet on official availability of the car on our shores. Stay tuned for updates to this page when we get official word!
