Golden State Warriors superstar Kevin Durant has recently apologized for throwing some serious shade at his former team and Oklahoma City Thunder organization as a whole in a series of controversial tweets last weekend, which many fans found offensive.

During a speaking engagement, Durant admitted that he took it “a little too far” after getting into a debate with other basketball fans.

“I don’t regret clapping back at anybody or talking to my fans on Twitter. I do regret using my former coach’s name and the former organization I played for. That was childish. That was idiotic—all those type of words. I regret doing that, and I apologize to them for doing that,” he said.

The controversial tweet showed Durant responding to a fan who asked the real reason why he left the Thunder to join the Warriors. It’s not hard to understand why it was deleted shortly after:

Through the years, Durant has slowly gained the reputation of being an honest and—at times—savage Twitter user. He’s known to be a good person who’s as straightforward as it gets, especially when speaking his mind. Here are other instances where the NBA champion clapped back at sports personalities, organizations, and fans:

White House invite

Last month, Durant, who made it known he doesn’t respect US President Donald Trump, declined an invitation to the White House. In a classic case of damned if you do or damned if you don’t, his move was both applauded and criticized. One of those who did the latter was sports reporter Britt McHenry, who said Durant shouldn’t have shunned the invitation. Durant pretty much crushed her with this vicious clap back:

Bum ass ESPN

Many were offended by ESPN’s football auction draft segment last month, which was likened to a slave auction. The sports network apologized for their blunder, but Durant had the last laugh with this tweet:

Beefin’ with Chris

Back in 2015, NBA reporter Chris Palmer took shots at the Thunder over their decision to give a two-year contract extension to forward Nick Collison. Naturally, Durant didn’t like it and fired back.

He also bashes random fans when he feels like it

Sometimes because they aren’t good enough

Even female fans don’t get off easy

But he does have valid points from time to time

Plus some serious burns

And he simply doesn’t care

The ESPYs joke

Remember Peyton Manning’s epic ESPYs joke?

Just like his reaction on live TV, Durant didn’t even need words to clap back.
