July is Philippines’ Japan Friendship Month, and there are few better ways to celebrate that than with a film festival featuring some of the most captivating films from the land of the rising sun.[firstpara]
“Eigasai 2010,” a Japanese Contemporary Film Festival is a joint project by the Japan Foundation, Manila, the Embassy of Japan, the Shangri-La Plaza Mall (EDSA) and the UP Film Institute.

“Eigasai,” which literally means “film festival” is now on its 12th year, and will be offering eight contemporary films and two anime features. Check out the Japan Foundation website here to view the full schedule.

While we certainly think that all of those movies are of a high-caliber, we do have our own favorites among them. Check out the gallery for the top five must see films of the fest!
