You know a concert was amazing when everyone leaves with a huge smile plastered on their face, good vibrations lingering in the air post-performance.
Such was the case at Erykah Badu’s concert last Saturday, October 14, at the Harbour Garden Tent in Hotel Sofitel Philippine Plaza. The almost two-hour show was an end-to-end experience that did not disappoint. The Queen of Neo Soul, whose onstage presence was a potent mix of spellbinding authenticity and unabashed swagger, worked the audience like a seasoned maestro. She performed classic hits like “Love Of My Life (An Ode To Hip Hop)” and “Bag Lady,” which turned the energy up at the venue. And in between the music, she peppered her set with soundbites that were both hilarious and illuminating (“Everybody in the front, put your hands up, everybody in the back, what the fuck you looking at!”).
FHM.com.ph was there to witness the show, which, when all was said and done, was a great celebration of love and life led by a bona fide poetic goddess.
