Alpha Records
In their debut album Suntok Sa Buwan, Sesssionroad got serious flak for that misstep they did with their hit song “Leaving You” containing all too obvious sonic cues to Superdrag’s “Garmonbozia.” Bands die by this error but, hey, Sessionroad is well and alive, with a sophomore effort Bakit Hindi? that sounds promising (well, after you get past the blank shots fired by opener “Blanko”). The album builds excitement track by track until you reach a climax with the romantic “Song for You.” Hannah has the best set of pipes in the femme rock scene, and the boys behind her are playing in top form. But what’s this we hear? Another soundalike in the song “Preno”? We’re hearing Katrina and the Waves “Walking on Sunshine” a little too much here...
