Any true Quentin Tarantino fan will tell you that part of what makes his movies so engaging is the intense, genre-bending dialogue present in his scripts. Characters can draw out a long scene, dissecting Madonna’s “Like A Virgin” (Reservoir Dogs), quoting fake bible verses in a threatening fashion (Pulp Fiction), or even interrogating innocent Jews (Inglorious Basterds), but never does it feel like you aren’t getting your money’s worth–probably because all that tension and talking is preparing the audience for a mind-blowing, oft-violent payoff.

His latest endeavor, the Oscar-winning Django Unchained, which opens in theaters tomorrow, is no different. Django (Jamie Foxx) is a vengeful slave in search of his long-lost wife. Together with a bigot-hating rogue bounty hunter named Dr. King Schultz (Christoph Waltz in his second Oscar-winning role in a Tarantino film), he sets out to Candy Land, one of America’s biggest cotton plantations headed by the maniacal, mandingo breeding Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio).

The result is classic Tarantino. Fueled by visceral and graphic imagery and led by rich and interesting characters as unapologetic as the writer that created them, Django surpasses the traditional spaghetti western, while at the same time paying tribute to it.

Never mind that the script is riddled with the “N” word, with dialogue that’s as witty, lush, and in-your-face as any Tarantino flick, we just couldn’t help but pull some quotes to help you out in your everyday, un-enslaved lives.
