Dave Grohl, Pat Smear, Nate Mendel, Taylor Hawkins, and Chris Shiflett, collectively known as Foo Fighters, have had their fair share of silly shenanigans. It's part of what have endeared them to fans all over the world.

Who would've thought the band would still be able to continue touring even after Grohl broke his leg during one of their shows? Who would've thought that they would construct a guitar throne that lights up for injured Dave to sit on during concerts? Who would've thought that they would let their frontman's orthpedic surgeon and a fan celebrating his birthday jam with them on stage? These guys are the best.

That is why when rumors started swirling around about the group taking a hiatus and Grohl thinking of going solo, you'd expect that they will address it in outrageous fashion.

Tuesday saw a cryptic message turning up on the band's official Twitter account, which kept their followers on their toes.

Instead, the "official band announcement" just proved that Dave Grohl and company are really just a bunch of trolls who happen to be good at making music. And that's what makes them freaking awesome!

Satisfied now, rumor mongers?
