NBA 09’s poster boy is none other than Eva Longoria’s hubby, Tony Parker of the San Antonio Spurs. But apart from the new French face on the cover, NBA 09 also boasts of a new feature that’ll make 2K9 campers drool: the Dynamic DNA. Now, your player and game stats are updated daily, making your virtual game as real as it could get. There are also a lot of new add-on features to the original lineup and a few animation tweaks here and there to fix the freezes that plagued NBA Live 08. The NBA Academy has also been put up to give new-timers a chance to sharpen their skills. On the curriculum are tutorials and minigames that are quite useful. NBA 09 seems to focus on the mastery of fundamentals more than its predecessors did. But the most interesting change in the game is the shooting system, where players must release the shot button at the highest point of the jump, much like 2K8’s. Overall, NBA Live 08 improved in many aspects and gained more heart for the game. - Cara Maia Tanlimco
