You’ve probably heard the news from your geek of a horror-lovin’ cousin: There’s a new Evil Dead movie! Gore-junkies can start the macabre-sturbation as director Sam Raimi’s freak-out franchise is raised from the grave.
If you’ve seen the original, give yourself a pat on the back. If you haven’t, this newer, in-your-face version might be a nice introduction before scouring through DVD ghosts of the past. So here, we’ve decided to pit the original and the remake mano a mano.
In the film, five friends retreat to an abandoned cabin in the woods, only to have their lives threatened by a demonic entity that encourages suicidal ambition. Sounds familiar? Yeah, we thought so, too.
But is it more demonic than the original one? Here's a handy chart to find out!
And the winner, demonically dominating with FOUR points is the original. But if you aren’t afraid of spilling some putrid, we suggest seeing the new version as well. Then, you be the judge.
Evil Dead is now showing in cinemas nationwide.
