Last March 1, 2011, Sugarfree, in front of an emotional crowd, belted out their tunes for the last time. It was the farewell concert of what very well could have been the defining band of the previous decade.
Needless to say, such a momentous event deserved to be captured on film not just for the fans, but for the entire country as well, seeing that the band's footprint on our musical landscape couldn't be described as anything less than tremendous.
So that's what King Palisoc--a highly-regarded music video director and self-confessed Sugarfree fan--and his crew of Mara Andres, JC Valencia, and Ian Marasigan did. Together, they produced Paalam Pilipinas: A Sugarfree Documentary.
In the film, you'll see how he and his crew captured the band's final moments, from the preparations the band were doing prior to the concert to the climax that was the band's most iconic hit "Burnout." The emotions, Palisoc said, ran high throughout that fateful day.
Now, we'll have a chance to see for ourselves as the docu premieres (and for free!) online on local music site www.atthewomb.com starting March 9, 2012. Direk King kept it sweet and simple as to why you wouldn't want to miss the screening: "Sa lahat ng namimiss ang Sugarfree, para sa inyo to."

We got to chat with the director himself too, and he reveals the process, the emotions, and shares some snippets from Ebe regarding this little endeavor about this little band we once knew as Sugarfree. It's a long read, but we promise you, it's worth it. Read it after the jump!
