The Red Hot Chili Peppers have just released a new song called "The Getaway" in preparation for the release of their album of the same name—their 11th studio recording and their first since 2011's I'm With You.
It's a funky if subdued number that features vocalist Anthony Kiedis' signature cool-as-ice styling, a foot-tapper of a bass line from Flea, and dreamy synthesizer hits.
"The Getaway" is the second single from the album, following the equally funky "Dark Necessities" released last May 5, which you can hear here:
The tunes show how promising Red Hot's new album is. If you're excited mark June 17 on your calendars now when the album is released.
