Hearing Stars of CCTV, we finally get why there is a lot of good press for Hard-Fi. CCTV pumps adrenaline through and through. They kind of remind us of Kasabian, with club-anthem, let’s-start-a-riot type of songs, “Hard To Beat,” being a prime example (same song seems to have been left open for remixes). “Better on Better” may be too slow for disco, but the chorus calls for a massive sing-along. “Feltham Is Singing Out” is sinister, but Hard-Fi puts in a mellow ender to allow us a gentle crash. It is a good album but we can’t help noticing a contrived feel to it.
