The Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro family comedy Little Fockers will make its way into local cinemas January 7. We’re pretty sure we’re going to catch this movie first thing next year.
The third installment of the 2000 film Meet the Parents, Little Fockers continues to follow Greg Focker and his ongoing pursuit of the approval of his ultra uptight father-in-law, Jack Byrne.
Now settled with his wife and two kids, Greg makes several attempts to convince the family patriarch to appoint him as his successor or as they say, the new “Godfocker.” Whether he does so with success or to no avail is for us to see.
If the first two films are any indication, Little Fockers should be a hit here just as it is in the US right now, currently leading the line-up of Christmas day films with $30.8 million in the box office.
Fockers also marks the return of Dustin Hoffman and Barbra Streisand as Bernie and Roz Focker, two over-the-top grandparents who are as awesome as they are crazy. And not to forget Jessica Alba, who is now making a career out of family movies.
So in the spirit of the holidays and Meet the Parents, we now give you our list of some of the most awesome parents in movies:
J.K. Simmons in Juno
Ellen Page and Jason Bateman pulled off some memorable conversations in the film, but scenes with Juno and dad Mac Macguff were downright awesome. Mac is often clueless and somewhat petrifying, but he always lets his daughter win the argument. Best of all however was his response when Juno revealed her pregnancy: “Paul Bleeker? I didn’t think he had it in him.”
