Hello Neighbor, a first-person horror adventure game, is inspired by horror/thriller films like Don't Breathe, a home invasion movie where the owner of the house turns into the villain of the story. The player is tasked to break into their neighbor's house to see what secret he has locked in the basement.
Created by game developer Dynamic Pixels, Hello Neighbor is powered by artificial intelligence (AI).
This means that the neighbor in Hello Neighbor is smart, and gets even smarter over time as he studies your moves. The AI enables the game to learn and adapt based on the player's moves, making it more difficult to win. For example, if you always try to sneak in through the backdoor, the game's anatagonist will eventually put a diversion or a trap in that entrance, blocking you from entering his place.
"The Neighbor gathers all the information about the player's actions, decisions, movements etc. Having analyzed it, he comes up with counter-actions, traps, and unique tactics against the player. The more one plays, the more experienced the Neighbor becomes," says a statment from the game's official website.
The trailer looks pretty intense. Don't believe us? You can check it out here for yourself:
Sadly, the game won't be released until the summer of 2017, but it looks as though it's worth the wait. If you really want to play as early as now, you can sign up at the game's official website for the alpha testing. Good luck!
Get two screens in one!
Hopefully, well see Erich Gonzales and Jasmine Curtis-Smith riding the waves there, too
