NEWS FLASH: Former Ginebra import and NBA player, Jackson Vroman, was found dead in his residence earlier today.

A spokesperson from the Los Angeles County Examiner-Coroner's Office said the body of the 34-year-old baller was found in a pool in his Los Angeles County home. His friend, poker phenom and IG superstar Dan Bilzerian said that Vroman's death was an accident:

Bilzerian also tweeted a response to earlier reports that said Vroman was killed in a fatal car crash:

Apparently, the Lebanese national basketball team was one of those who thought this was another Paul Walker case:

Those who know their NBA hoops history know Vroman as a talented big man out of Iowa State University who was selected in the second round of the 2004 NBA Draft by the Chicago Bulls. He brought his talents to Phoenix and New Orleans and compiled career averages of 3.28 points and 3.0 rebounds per game in the league.

For us staunch supporters of Gilas Pilipinas, Vroman will be remembered as Lebanon's naturalized 6'10 offensive dynamo who, together with Fadi El Khatib, gave our national team headaches on both ends of the floor.

As fate would have it however, he became an import for Ginebra in the 2012 Commissioner's Cup where he led the Kings to the semifinals with averages of 16.64 points and 12.0 rebounds per game. However, he drew the ire of many PBA fans due to his volatile temper. Just ask Kuya Yancy:

Still, one can't deny that he's one heckuva player who possessed a rare combination of rebounding and offensive skills at his mammoth size. Rest in peace, Mr. Vroman.
