This time, there was no need for a miracle shot.

The Barangay Ginebra San Miguel never surrendered the lead against the Meralco Bolts in the winner-take-all match at the Philippine Arena to capture back-to-back PBA Governors' Cup titles. Final score: 101-96.

Ginebra reinforcement Justin Brownlee (23p, 8r, 5a, 3b) got all the help that he needed in Game 7, especially from eventual Finals MVP LA Tenorio (26p, 4a) to give coach Tim Cone his 20th championship. Best Import Allen Durham of Meralco did everything he could (26p, 24r, 9a) with the same result as last year.

As for the kabarangays, they have all the reasons to celebrate tonight, particularly on social media.

Saw this joke coming from a mile away

Haters have to think of something else

Memorize the Ginebra code, STAT

The Bolts thought there were still Games 8 and 9
