This improved the Cavs’ winning streak to 13 games, as well as tying for their franchise record of most consecutive games won but the King isn’t ready to hit the brakes just yet.
James is apparently eyeing to extend their streak further with what appears to be the imminent return of sidelined Cavaliers point guard Isaiah Thomas into the mix. Thomas has yet to officially play for the Eastern Conference champs due to a hip injury, but James already has a rough idea how he would utilize the All-Star guard thanks to NBA 2K.
According to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, James has been playing with Thomas on the popular basketball simulator game to get a feel of how the former Celtics star would run plays with the Cavaliers once he gets back on the court.
The Cavs acquired an injured Thomas in a blockbuster trade with the Boston Celtics during the off-season. So far, Thomas has been spotted practicing a couple of times and it looks like it won’t be long before we get to see whether James’ video game strategies will translate into on-court success for their team.
