The Miami Heat recently retired Shaquille O'Neal's No. 32 jersey, making him among the handful players to have their uniforms raised to the rafters by multiple teams.

Despite being there for only three and a half years, O'Neal was regarded by former head coach and now team president Pat Riley as "bigger than any acquisition that we ever made, including the Big Three." Upon arriving, he immediately went to work, helping rising star Dwyane Wade and the franchise win their first championship in just his second season, and a fourth ring for himself.

Aside from achieving a great level of success, Shaq also shared a lot of fond memories with his former team, particularly his legendary mentor. During his special day, he narrated to his Inside the NBA colleagues one such ridiculous episode with Riley:

"Well, I think Pat Riley almost drunk drowned himself. He came in one day and was trying to teach us about mind control. He was like, 'You guys don't have the right mindset,' then he pulled out a piece of paper and he said, 'The world record holder of breath underwater is, let’s just say, five minutes.' That man put his head in an ice cold bucket for about eight minutes."

Before anyone could even call bull, O'Neal continued, "Eight minutes straight. He did it. He did it. I saw it."

Watch the hilarity ensue at the 4:30 mark:

Come on, Diesel!
