After the Talk N' Text Tropang Texters' victory over Barangay Ginebra San Miguel last Sunday—one that puts Ginebra's playoff spot in jeopardy—we think it's safe to assume that L.A. Tenorio is pissed off at Jimmy Alapag at the moment. Despite Tenorio's late game heroics, it was Alapag who provided the knockout blows (aka three straight three-pointers in the final four minutes of the game) to seal a much-needed win for TNT.
As a result, both teams are once again scheduled to face off this coming Tuesday, September 24, with the winner clinching the last quarterfinal spot in the playoffs of the 2013 PBA Governor's Cup. We're now looking at a do-or-die game for both teams.
And okay, one more thing: We all know that Alapag and Tenorio have been going at each other for a long time. And we've listened to these two during games and practices, and we hear these guys one-up each other all the time. So you see, tomorrow's game is going to be extra personal. We even got the pictures to prove it!
Note: Actually, Jimmy Alapag and L.A. Tenorio are close friends in real life. The Gilas Pilipinas teammates shared a hotel room during their FIBA Asia stint, and Tenorio has gone out of his way to proclaim that Alapag is his mentor. "To be honest, I want to be like him. As a player, as a person—wala akong masabi." In short, we're just messing with you.
