Former Most Valuable Player and current free agent Derrick Rose might be heading to the Cleveland Cavaliers to play with NBA superstar LeBron James in a bid to chase his first ring.

According to ESPN, the youngest player to win the MVP title is engaged in some “serious talks” with the management of Cleveland for a potential one-year contract.

But it’s not just the Cavaliers who are vying for his attention. Rose has also reportedly met with three teams—the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers and the Milwaukee Bucks—within the past three weeks.

If he chooses to play for Cleveland, Rose will be teaming up with three-time champion and four-time MVP James along with All-Star players Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love.

On the other hand, the Lakers are eyeing Rose as a potential mentor for their newest member, prized rookie Lonzo Ball, who recently came out as the NBA Summer League’s MVP with record stats.

Rose won the MVP title back in 2011 when he was playing for the Chicago Bulls in what seemed to be the start of a promising career. However, it all went downhill for him after being plagued by persistent injuries.

In the last season, Rose played 64 games and averaged 18 points, 3.8 rebounds and 4.4 assists. Unfortunately, he stopped playing following another injury in April that required his fourth knee surgery.
