Back in 2007, the tech world welcomed a new mobile platform called Android. Fast forward to 2012 and the once fledgling little project by Google and its partners is already a certified juggernaut. In fact, it's the current number one smartphone operating system by a dabyana-wide margin. That's a mean feat for something that's just half a decade old!

Since its birth, Android has slowly but surely intensified its ratsada and has spawned several versions, all of which are named after drool-inducing sweet treats. Needless to say, in its five years of existence, a lot has happened to the platform which contributed to its overall success.

Now we ask, what does the next few years hold for Android? Will it continue its blazing march? How about new features that define the term "next-gen." We took a look at our little crystal ball and these are what we saw...
