In a bold move worth a ton of moolah, Disney has announced that it's gobbling up George Lucas' Lucasfilms LTD and with it the storied Star Wars franchise. How much? $4 billion in stock and cash. Whoa!
With the acquisition, Disney has added another big time studio brand to its brood, which already includes Marvel and Pixar. And here's the good news for all you Star Wars enthusiasts: Disney CEO Bob Iger has revealed that they will release Episode 7 in 2015. Episodes 8 and 9 are also in the works as Iger says the plan is to have a Star Wars movie every 2 or 3 years. Talk about milking getting the most out of the franchise!
That's all good, but we wonder, how will Princess Leia look in a Disney Star Wars movie? We're hoping she'll take the sexier route and be something like this:
