Last month we reported that Apple announced they were rewarding the 25 billionth app downloader with a $10,000 gift card to the App Store and today, Cult Of Mac reports that the winner of the gift card si Fu Chunli fron Qingdao, China. The app she downloaded? Where's My Water? for her new, month-old iPhone.
According to MICgadget, Chunli was invited to the Beijing Apple store to collect her prize. They go on to state the irony that Chunli is a new user and that she didn't know about the prize until after Apple has called her and even then, she was skeptical and even thought it was a hoax! Hey, we don't blame her. Being informed that you won P300,000 through text is a daily occurence in the Philippines---well in Manila, at least.
In other news, Apple top gun Tim Cook is said to be seen in Beijing taking meetings with Chinese carriers. Possibly a step in taking a dent out of Samsung's Asian market? We know that Apple wants to be number 1 in Asia---specifically China, too. But to Chunli, earlier reported to "not be a big Apple fan" congratulations! We're sure she's a fan now.
