The Apple's iOS 10 update, rolled out last September, has steadily been wowing users who value a more animated and fun experience with their perennial favorites.

A total overhaul of the messaging app now allows fans to send effects-laden messages—Bubbles graphic and even their own sketches, if they're feeling a bit artistic—to convey their mood. Texting has also become more dynamic through the use of GIFs that can be found directly in the iMessage app.

Other features include a fresher layout, the freedom to delete unused apps to free up precious storage space, and new tricks for Siri.

December's latest iOS 10.2 upgrade for your iPhone or iPad looks to build on the gains of the previous updates. Here are five features that we feel will excite Apple loyalists the most.

1) New emojis

If you update your iPhone or iPad to iOS 10.2, you'll automatically find 72 new emojis installed in your messaging app. This includes new professions for both male and female characters, medals, new food items, and many more. You can check the full list of iOS 10.2 emojis here.

2) TV app

During Apple's latest event last month, the company introduced a new video streaming app exclusively for their gadgets upgraded to iOS 10.2. It will be an app that puts different shows together from different streaming sites. You can search shows based on popularity and your preference. Once you've chosen something to watch, the TV app will direct you to the appropriate site where you can view the show.

3) Preserve settings in camera

Taking pictures is matter of personal expression and preference. You have to admit, having to constantly select the right settings on your camera app each time you try to open gets burdensome at times. Since the camera app in Apple products go back to its original settings once you open it after exiting, the tech giant decided to add a Preserve Settings feature on the iOS 10.2 update. You can find this option in the settings under Photos and Camera. This will enable you to pick up where you left off once you reopen the camera application.

4) Celebration screen effect

Apple device owners were surely amused with iMessage effects on iOS 10 such as the invisible ink and slam. iOS 10.2 will add a new effect, Celebrations, which will fill your screen with sparklers. To use this effect, hold or use the 3D touch on the arrow of your chat bubble after typing your message. When the effects screen shows up, tap Screen at the top part of the display. Look for the Celebrations effect and watch the sparkles fly.

5) New wallpaper

Three new wallpaper options in iOS 10.2 will be exclusive to iPhone 7 or 7 Plus. The new wallpapers will have an image of a water droplet and will come in colors blue, pink, and yellow. But all is not lost for older iPhones updated to iOS 10.2. You can still get the new wallpapers here.
