Well, how about that? Cherry Mobile has just announced its very own watch phone! Called the G1, it's a tiny device with call and text functions that will call your wrist home. And here we thought watch phones are only made by big time brands (i.e. Samsung's Galaxy Gear).
Ikaw na, Cherry Mobile!
Check it out below:
It certainly looks pambata, but we tell you, the G1 can be a game-changer for good ol' CM. You see, watch phones are still a rarity locally. With the brewing popularity of wearable tech, headlined by the likes of Google Glass and the Galaxy Gear, this move could translate to a new tech trend here in 'Pinas. In other words, big bucks galore! We like how you guys think, sirs and madams of Cherry Mobile!
As for sheer hardware, don't expect much from the G1. However, it does come with a few niceties that could make it more than just a novelty gadget collecting dust inside your drawer. It packs a 1.44-inch touchscreen, a VGA camera, Bluetooth, dual-SIM capability, and microSD expansion up to 8GB. The G1 is also a slider with a numeric keypad tucked beneath the display. Slide it up and feel a bit like James Bond. Taray!
It's not the flashiest of gadgets specs-wise (although its sliding mechanism is a really nice touch), but that's to be expected since the darn thing only costs P1,599. A very cheap price to pay for potentially being the first one in your tropa to wear a watch phone.
Note: The Cherry Mobile G1 is available at all Cherry Mobile dealers, stores, and kiosks!
