One of the popular underdog teams of Dota 2 has apparently split up due to roster problems plaguing them in previous months.
In a Twitch stream, Digital Chaos (DC) member Mason Venne casually confirmed that they’ve called it quits. “You’re still streaming right? I don’t care honestly, DC disbanded... You know I’m on a look for another team,” he told fellow pro player Jingjun Wu.
Rumors of DC disbanding started when Filipino Dota 2 star Abed Yusop (Abed) quit the team last October. Some members of the current roster were then spotted removing the DC banners from their social media accounts.
The Digital Chaos roster is currently composed of Mason Venne (mason), Maximilian Bröcker (qojqva), Arif Anwar (MSS), Kanishka Sosale (BuLba), and Team Captain Jimmy Ho (DeMoN).
Ho’s in-game handle may ring a bell for some Pinoy e-sports fans who tuned in to Dota 2’s The International (TI6) event last year. After all, DeMoN played for our very own TNC Pro Team in their sensational run during the tournament, where they took home $509,000 with their top 8 finish.
The team that eliminated them? Well, it was DC who went on to claim second place along with the whopping $3.4 million prize. Relive TNC and DC’s epic do-or-die showdown complete with hilarious Pinoy commentators here:
