Without question, Final Fantasy XV is THE reason to get a PS4 or an Xbox One this year, if you haven't already. The fifteenth main entry to Square Enix's long-running series is a doozy, having teased us with visuals and animation pretty enough to earn a nod from a gaming generation that's not easily impressed with graphics.
Announced today at Square Enix's "Uncovered" event in Los Angeles, FFXV will hit stores on September 30. At the same event though, the company treated gamers to a string of revelations and surprises—most important of which was how the game's first official demo is now available for download on the Xbox One and PS4. You'll need to search for "Final Fantasy XV demo" to find it in the console's respective online stores.

What else do we know so far? Here's a list:
1) There won't be a PC version in the meantime as Square Enix is currently focusing on the console versions.
2) For hardcore gamers, yes, there will be special editions. One is called the "Deluxe Edition," and the other is the "Ultimate Collector's Edition."
3) The game stars a certain Prince Noctis who embarks on this epic road quest with friends before he's married off to a neighboring princess.
4) The game will be accompanied by a five-episode animated series called Brotherhood: Final Fantasy XV and a full-length 3D-animated feature film Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV. The former will focus on how Noctis formed strong bonds with his friends while the latter will feature the voices of Game Of Thrones' Lena Heady and Sean Bean and Breaking Bad actor Aaron Paul.
The animated series is now available. In fact, its first episode has been upped on YouTube:
The full-length film will be released this year as well.
And to top it all off? There's a nearly three-minute long trailer overflowing with the sort of FF goodies that make our stomachs flutter with absolute glee:
