Heads-up, Android fans! Instagram is now officially up for download from the Google Play Store, giving users of the Big G's mobile platform a chance to take and share photos using the uber-popular photo-sharing app previously available only for iOS users. Can you say finally?
It was actually only a bit over a week ago when we first learned that it's coming to the little green robot's arsenal, although the demand for its Android arrival has been around for some time now. The news generated a bit of buzz, and for good reason: Instagram has been one of the most popular and widely used apps of its kind on iOS. And, as expected, it's attracting much attention in the Google Play Store. Fact is, it's already been rated by almost 32,000 users as of this writing (after being uploaded just barely a day ago), getting an average grade of 4.5 stars (out of 5).
The best part? Just like the iOS version, Instagram for Android is absolutely free! And, oh, before we forget, you need to have Android 2.2 FroYo or newer on your device to enjoy the app and start taking and sharing photos with that slight artistic flare Instagram photos are known for. So, ready, set, download!
